Barbelle is the solo project of Swedish multi-instrumental musician, producer and songwriter Claes Björklund, known to most for being the musical producer working from the shadows with the groundbreaking and award-winning audiovisual project iamamiwhoami. as a musician, Claes is also recognized for his work with artists like Martha Wainwright, Ron Sexsmith, Travis, and Azure Blue.

We describe Barbelle’s music as dreamy and scenic, organic electro, that takes you places. Claes himself talks about Barbelle as a philosophy:

“What happens if one takes away the egocentric part of the human being? If we are anonymously part of the world, how does that serve our purpose?”
